BIG PIG ROAST PART 2!!
Though not as well attended as the Hair of the Dog/ Year of the Pig Party back in 2006... The pig rocked the house and was as juicy and delicious as can be!! Raised right here on Spry Farm
For those who might be curious about what the heck Camp Meade is, here's the story...
I'm presently renting a studio at an historic WPA camp. It was build back in the New Deal Era when men were given employment by the federal government on public works projects around the country in order to get the ecomomy going again after the Great Depression. The camp was where the workers lived while constructing bridges and dams around the state of Vermont. For many years after the WPA was disbanded, the camp was run as a restaurant with rental cabins around a pool. It catered to biker groups, large families looking for a place to have reunions, and many of the teachers from the local high school who gathered at the diner for breakfast before home room. I can't say much for what the food was like but the owners had a unique collection of antique army junk, like planes and tanks and stuff. Humorously enough some of these artifacts are still there on the green outside my studio door. Most recently the property was purchased by a local couple and is being built out as an artisnal bakery and cafe and hopefully a cluster of artist spaces like mine.
5 and Dime
Art car spotted in Hadlock WA last fall outside a junk shoppe. Couldn't resist its charms. Ended up using it in the title bar of my Etsy site.
